Privacy Notice

The short version

get in. helps casual groups organise games. We use only the information needed to run a game, never sell personal data, do not use it for advertising, and never take or hold player payments.

Who we are

What we handle

Organisers provide an email address to sign in, plus game details such as a game name, sport, date, time, venue, capacity, notes, price and optional payment instructions. Players provide a name or nickname and an IN, MAYBE or OUT response. We store the response and its payment-status record. We do not collect player passwords, phone numbers or precise locations.

If you contact us, we receive the email address and message you send.

Why we use it

We use organiser and player information to create, share and run games, provide secure organiser access, control access to payment instructions, maintain the service and answer support requests. These uses are necessary to provide the service and, where appropriate, are in our legitimate interests to operate and protect it. We do not send marketing.

Who can see what

Game details are available to people with the game link. An organiser can see their game's player responses and payment-status records. Payment instructions are available only to a player who has recorded an IN response from their own browser session. People browsing a game, and players marked MAYBE, OUT or WAITLIST, cannot retrieve those instructions.

Payments

get in. does not take, hold, process, confirm or guarantee payments. Players pay an organiser directly using the organiser's chosen method. A payment status is only an organiser or player record and is not payment verification. If an organiser shares a third-party payment link, that provider handles information under its own privacy notice.

Retention and deletion

Player response records are scheduled for hard deletion 12 weeks after each game. The daily deletion process may run after, rather than exactly at, that point. Organisers can permanently delete payment details at any time; doing so also removes their links to games. We keep organiser account and game information while needed to provide the service, and support emails only as long as reasonably needed.

Service providers

Macaly hosts the website. Convex provides the application database and authentication service. A managed email delivery endpoint sends organiser sign-in links. We do not list a payment provider because get in. does not process payments; an organiser's chosen payment-link provider is independent.

Cookies and storage

We use essential browser storage to keep a player's response session in that browser and to remember an organiser's current game selection. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

Your rights

You can ask for access to, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal data we hold, or object to how we use it. Email privacy@getinplay.co.uk. If you are in the UK, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
